Most color videos throw the whole rainbow at a toddler at once. This one doesn't. In Learn Colors with Bumpi Bear, Bumpi's little bear friend introduces the first colors — red, yellow, blue, and more — one at a time, slowly, with simple, repeatable phrases. It's built for first color words: young toddlers who are starting to point, name, and notice the colors on their clothes, their food, and their toys. If your child is new to colors, start here before the rainbow songs.

What kids learn
- First color words — red, yellow, and blue, named clearly and repeated, with time for little voices to join in.
- Color spotting — colors are shown on big, simple objects, which helps toddlers connect the word to the world around them.
- Listening and focus — the slow pacing gives young toddlers a chance to watch, listen, and respond without the video racing ahead of them.
- Pointing and naming practice — the pauses are invitations: your child can point at the screen, at their own crayons, or at anything else that matches.
Three colors might sound like a small lesson, but for a one- or two-year-old it's the perfect size. Mastering red, yellow, and blue first gives kids a confident base — and these are the primary colors, the starting point for every color conversation that comes later.
Try this at home: the three-crayon color-along
- Set up before you press play. Put out three big crayons or markers — one red, one yellow, one blue — and a plain sheet of paper (any big coloring page works too).
- Color along with the song. When the video names a color, pick up that crayon together and scribble. Big arm movements, no staying-in-the-lines required.
- Take the colors for a walk. After the video, carry one crayon around the room and hunt for matches: "Red crayon… red cup!" Matching a crayon to a real object is the exact skill the song teaches.
- Keep it to three. When red, yellow, and blue feel easy, that's the moment to graduate to the full rainbow.
Ready for the rainbow?
The natural next step is Learn Colors with ROY G BIV, where kids learn all seven colors of the rainbow — and the trick for remembering their order. For more color play, the sorting games on our Games page keep the practice going, and the coloring books in the Shop turn screen time into crayon time. You can also browse every Bumpi song and story on the Videos page.
